BLACK IS THE COLOR OF MY TRUE LOVES HAIR!
The RicLamar 10th anniversary fashion show was one to be remembered and a great way to kick off the new year with fashion in the Seven Cities. Black is the color of my true love's hair was the theme for the 10th anniversary fashion show. The name says it all unique, eccentric, custom and Couture but just enough for the everyday woman. I had the opportunity to get a front row view to take in every bit of this fashion explosion. Not only was it the 10th anniversary for RicLamar but it was a coming out for Designers with a Cause. This new platform is catapult it by designers RicLamar and Marcus Christopher. Designers with a cause unites designers in the area and beyond to help bring awareness to different causes through creativity and fashion. Every designer designed a custom piece in the color of green in awareness of glaucoma for the month of January. Not only did we get to see designing with a cause but we got a chance to experience Black Power.
The first segment was all black, the looks were chic, classy, unique and of course eccentric as only DUTCH RicLamar can do.
The 2nd segment was a great way to show how you can mix prints and ankara fabric for fashion and style. Lets talk collaboration, the ankara fabrics used was from Lee lou designs 720, a local fabric boutique that specializes in ankara fabrics and custom designs by owner Femi Gordon . The collaboration was flawless and promotes forward movement. Hats off to you RicLamar for sharing your platform with other designers in this area.
The 3rd segment, we were graced with all white down the runway from high low dresses, Ruffles, High necks, pant suits and 2 Pieces sets, ranging from sizes 0 and and up. This segment showcased women of different sizes and color wearing white gracefully, uniquely and stylish.
With all that said if you wasn't in attendance you missed a really good fashion presentation by designer RicLamar. The venue was packed full of Dutch dolls, future Dutch dolls, supporters and people that just love them some riclamar.
